Sophie Press: Board Member
Sophie Press (she/they) is a fundraiser, clarinetist, and leader with a commitment to positive change through the arts. Currently, Sophie serves as the Assistant Manager for Individual Giving for the National Symphony Orchestra, housed within the Kennedy Center’s Development team. She stewards a portfolio of major donors from across the United States and develops strategies for targeted campaigns. In addition to her official responsibilities, Sophie participates actively on both the Kennedy Center’s Diversity and Inclusion Council and the NSO’s DEI Task Force. She also serves on the Professional Development Pillar, facilitating career growth opportunities for her colleagues in the Development department.
Sophie earned a Bachelor of Music and Master of Science in Management from the University of Florida. As a musician, she particularly enjoys storytelling through performance, and her senior recital, “Like Moons and Like Suns,” featured music composed by women. In their personal life, Sophie enjoys reading, baking, and long walks around DC, especially Capitol Hill.
