Megan Yanik: Faculty Board Representative & Music Department Chair
Dr. Megan Yanik is the Chair of the CHAW Music Department and is the CHAW Faculty Board Representative. She has taught violin and viola to young children and students at the collegiate level for the past 15 years. She is an active performer in the DC area, and is principal violist for the Grammy Nominated Inscape Chamber Orchestra.
Before moving to DC in 2011, Megan earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Michigan and was Assistant Professor of Viola at Bowling Green State University. She currently teaches a studio of fantastic Suzuki violin students at CHAW. She is passionate about her work with young children and believes strongly in the power of the arts to transform lives. In addition to her work at CHAW, Megan is a Supervisor at the United States Copyright Office and lives in D.C. with her husband, saxophonist Jonathan Yanik, and two children.
