Gallery Residency Workshop: Portrait of the Forgotten River

In this virtual workshop, CHAW gallery resident artist Billy Friebele invites participants to engage with his ongoing gallery installation focused on the Anacostia River. We will learn about the amazing creatures that live in this ecosystem and make mixed media artworks inspired by their unique abilities. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to hear about Billy’s creative process and see how combining common materials can create new expressive forms. Images of these completed artworks may be displayed in the gallery as a part of his evolving exhibition exploring the dynamic ecosystem of the Anacostia River.
The workshop will be held on Zoom on Saturday, February 5 from 12:00-1:30pm.
