The Golden Age of Radio in 2024! The COIL Project Variety Hour records their bi-monthly radio show, usually heard over the airwaves on Takoma Radio at 94.3 FM, before a live studio audience. Watch as your favorite voice actors transform into the zany characters in the 100% fictional town of Granola Park.

Coil Radio Director Patrick Mullen has been cooking up a one-of-a-kind live performance. For those who regularly listen to our radio show (our beloved Eternal Flames), we are bringing you the characters you know and love. And for some of you, this will be your introduction to our radio universe. Either way, we are so excited to see you and have you as our live studio audience.

Each night will be a different episode, so you can join us both nights for two totally different shows. Act I will be a live recording of our on-air program, followed by a brief intermission. Act II will be a little different because it won’t be broadcast on the radio. There’s so much material we come up with that we could never put on the public airwaves, y’all. Without the firm hand of the FCC keeping us family-friendly, the content will be distinctly R-rated. In short, Act I is family-friendly and Act II is not, so you may leave during the intermission if you do not want to stay for the R-rated content.

The ticket price is tiered to offer a PWYC (pay what you can) option. We are fundraising for our December production and half of the proceeds from this event will go to our venue partner, CHAW (Capitol Hill Arts Workshop), and their local community initiatives.
