Hollywood, 1930: thirty-five years after their first run-in with Count Dracula, Lucy Westenra and R.M. Renfield are rising talents in the nascent film industry. When a series of murders in Los Angeles suggest a connection to their past, they look up their old friend Elizabeth Frankenstein, now a researcher at Miskatonic University. What eldritch horrors might be rising from the depths to the silver screen? In this new twist on the works of Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker, and H.P. Lovecraft, the distressed damsels and tragic victims of gothic horror literature become the heroes of their own stories. Make movies and fight crime with the misbegotten monsters of great gothic horror in Forgotten Monsters of Filmland, a new play from the Coil Project.
