Shakespeare’s origin story of frustrated love. Remastered.
Taffety Punk presents a hybrid concert of the very poem that made Shakespeare famous in his own time. Venus, struck by her own arrow, woos the mortal Adonis and risks the daunting void of unrequited love. Weaving music and dance into this rich tapestry of verses, the Punks amplify the resonant underpinnings of this unique and riveting story to make it as ardent as a first kiss.
Directed by Marcus Kyd. Choreography by Erin Mitchell Nelson. With original music by Kathy Cashel. Featuring Tonya Beckman, Lise Bruneau, and Sarina Martinez de Osaba.
