Artists were asked to interpret this theme in all its various possibilities. Does it conjure a feeling? An experience? Or can we take it literally in the schematic of a photograph or other work of art?

In this show, Capitol Hill Art League artists have created art that speaks to the various interpretations of the concept of “dislocation”.

Juror Wayson Jones will present awards and discuss the art at the opening reception on Saturday, July 29, from 5:30-7:00 pm at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop gallery located at 545 7th Street, S.E.,  DC, 20003

Wayson Jones https://waysonjones.com/home.html is a self-taught, Washington, DC abstract artist. He is interested in the ideas of the object as a mediator between the person and the environment and is motivated to think beyond arbitrary formal categories. He works in pastels and acrylics to create works that are visually evocative.

The Capitol Hill Art League (CHAL) is a program of the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, located in the historic Capitol Hill neighborhood in Washington, DC. 100 Artists/members from the DC- metro area exhibit and sell original artwork at CHAW and various venues in the DC region. CHAL/CHAW hosts lectures on art related topics, offers workshops, and strives to support this vibrant community of artists.
