Beyond Borders Reception

This fall, CHAW welcomes Malik Greene, a painter based in Alexandria, Virginia, as our newest Artist-in-Residence.

Greene’s figurative paintings explore themes of identity, kinship, and resilience, drawing from both personal experience and collective memory. During his seven-week residency, he will continue developing Beyond Borders, an ongoing portrait series celebrating the faces, stories, and communities that make Washington, DC unique.

Visitors are invited to stop by the gallery throughout the residency to see Malik’s work in progress and experience his creative process firsthand.
