I first discovered art when I was 5 years old and I immediately enjoyed expressing myself by drawing and coloring. Over the years, creating art has been one of the greatest joys in my life. My interest led me to study Fine Arts at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. Some of my paintings are in private collections here in the US and abroad. I was also fortunate to have had the opportunity to work as a production manager in the direct marketing division of the National Geographic Society for 16 years which inspired me to capture the beauty of nature through photography. I joined Capitol Hill Art League in the Spring of 2020. I am also an artist member of Falls Church Arts and recently joined Singulart, an online gallery based in Paris, France.
My work is eclectic and I have not limited myself to a particular theme. In the past, I have addressed contemporary and cultural issues and I have explored different genres.
Trocadero, Acrylic 12 x 16 Montmarte, Oil 12 x 16
Initially, I painted more traditional artwork but I’ve developed an interest in modern and abstract styles. The mediums that I use are oil, acrylic or goauche with the use of brush or palette knife. I also draw with charcoal on paper. My techniques range from precise and detailed to free expression.
Every work of art has a story to tell and I always enjoy the journey creating it. My studio is my happy place, a place to de-stress, think and create.
