This month we are featuring Ken Bachman for the Capitol Hill Art League’s Mind of the Artist blog. Read Ken’s story and check out his artwork below.

My art training began with a three year program in oil painting run by Glen Kessler at his Compass Atelier.  This program encouraged me to deepen my skills and artistic vision and to exhibit my works. 

While I enjoy painting figures, my main subjects are landscapes.  I often look for scenes that offer strong contrast of light and dark to accentuate interest and meaning.

Art gives me an outlet for my desire to express my creativity and love of beauty in life.
