Louisa Mejeur: Dance

Originally from Midland, Texas, Louisa Chapman Mejeur grew up dancing with Midland Festival Ballet under the direction of Susan Clark. She performed professionally with Nashville Ballet 2, BalletMet, and Festival Ballet Providence (now Ballet RI). In addition to dancing, she created and managed programs for FBP’s Educational Outreach Department. Upon further moves she danced with Virginia Ballet Theater, Todd Rosenlieb Modern Dance, and ABC Tokyo Ballet. Louisa created choreographic works for Festival Ballet Providence, Bluebird Uncaged, The C Project, the Todd Rosenlieb Dance and Virginia Ballet Theater Ensembles, the ABC Tokyo Ballet Company, Island Moving Company’s Student Company, and The Berkshire Choreography Project. Her work, “The Elements”, was performed at the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in 2017 and “The Family Ballet” was co-presented by Dance Place in DC in 2024. She proudly co-founded the Rhode Island Women’s Choreography Project in 2018. Louisa currently resides in Washington D.C. working as a mother, teacher, choreographer, and freelance artist with Capital Ballet.
