Kate received her MFA from The New York Academy of Art where she worked as the Director of Alumni Affairs and Admissions Officer after graduating. She is originally from the coast of North Carolina and currently lives in Washington, DC.

Kate paints and sculpts people, places, and plants. Shapes, forms, and colors found in nature are endlessly fascinating; so much so that beauty is found in the everyday. Her work finds the ethereal in the urbane. She is drawn to various materials, representative and abstract imagery, anatomy and the figure, and enjoys the evolving process of observing life through making. Currently, Kate teaches Intro to the Wheel at CHAW and in her own time to create a new body of work in the studio alongside accepting painting commissions.
