Pilates is a wonderful body/mind system of exercise designed to strengthen, tone and streamline your body without building bulk or stressing your joints. Pilates practice can correct poor posture habits and relieve aches and pains. In this mat class you learn and practice a series of progressive exercises that help you find, strengthen and maintain your “powerhouse”- the muscles of the abdominals, lower back, hips and buttocks. Pilates coordinates your mind, body and breathing to develop strong abdominal muscles, long back, grace and balance. Beginners are easily accommodated, while allowing advancement and challenge to those experienced in Pilates. Mats are provided. No class on 11/24.
